"If its creativity and musical richness that you're after than Pedro Laurenz is definitely for you. Laurenz, along with Pedro Maffia and Osvaldo Pugliese, played in Julio de Caro's famous sextet and like Pugliese he took the ideas he received there in his own direction.
The opening track on this album, Arrabal, just has to be heard to be believed. It is a fount of musical invention with an incredible syncopated central section that leaves one breathless.
Laurenz is also very stong in the vocal numbers. Juan Carlos Casas is not one of the very top names but nevertheless Abandono and No Me Extraña are outstanding whilst Podestá's Naranjo En Flor (Orange Blossom) is just devastating.
Before this album Laurenz, who has left comparitively few recordings, was very difficult to get hold of. This CD is one of the jewels of the El Bandoneón catalogue."
