This long unavailable and splendid 1964 concert by the classic Oscar Peterson Trio with Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen performing in Tokyo, is now issued on CD for the first time. This particular formation of the trio would not last much longer, as drummer Ed Thigpen who had been with the band for many years would quit the group in mid-1965.
There are a number of relatively rare versions in the Peterson discography in this concert, including: Cole Porters At Long Last Love and Delibes Maidens of Cadiz.
As a bonus, the Copenhagen concert, which is one of the last recorded performances by this same formation. Recorded live at Tivoli Gradens, Copenhagen, Denmark in 1965, added here in its entirety.
