This edition compiles Dizzy Gillespies seminal be-bop studio recordings, made for the small labels Guild and Musicraft. These are mainly small group sessions but there are also recordings by the Dizzy Gillespie big band.
All of these tunes became classics, especially Things to Come and Dizs ballad I Waited For You, which he would use as his theme song on radio shows for many years. These were some of Dizs earliest hits in an extended career which would end with his death in 1993.
