Dimitri Tiomkin began composing in the late 1920's and continued until just before his death at age 80. He composed music for the TV-serie "Wild, wild west" and for more than 150 movies including "The Guns of Navarone", "Rio Bravo", "The Old Man and the Sea", "The Gunfighter" and "Giant".
In "Search of Paradise", he utilized sounds and music actually recorded in Asia. The main title is a haunting interpretation of the picture's basic theme, reminiscent of everything from a royal coronation in Nepal to the lofty Himalaya Mountain.
