The four members of this quartet Owens, tenor sax; Jason Lindner, piano, Omer Avital, bass and Daniel Freedman met at various jam sessions around New York and first started performing together as a quartet in some smaller clubs around town in 1993, however the real fruition began in 1994 when now the legendary club Smalls opened its doors.
This debut recording assures the same great playing and the consistent high level of musicianship they offer on the bandstand every Friday night at Smalls. This is a unit that thinks and breathes as one, each person an important and irreplaceable piece of the overall picture.
