Press reviews

"Yes, well, this Spanish compilation of recordings made in 1957 and 1961 respectively is just stunning. The Havana sides are part of the general descarga ("jam-session") ferment that hit Cuba in the mid-'50s. The New York set, a logical extension of the idea, mixes Clark Terry and other jazzmen with Cuban musicians in about the most even típico/jazz balance I've heard."
