An undeniable part of Castillo's personality was his true belonging to Buenos Aires, his link to the realities of his city. That's where the depth of his words and the remorseless sadness of of his sensitive soul come. Alberto Castillo was "El Cantor de los 100 Barrios Porteños", possibly the award he most intimately thanked and was prouder of. It was given to him by the people, the same people that collapsed the surroundings of Buenos Aires one July evening back in 1990, when he was 86.
