After a classical career in music school, Baptiste entered the Bordeaux Conservatory in 2007 in the class of Philippe Valentine. He will graduate with the congratulations of the jury in June 2010. At the same time, he obtained a degree in musicology at the University of Bordeaux III. He then began to play regularly on the Bordeaux scene in jazz, blues and funk groups.

In September 2011, he moved to Paris and joined the Didier Lockwood music center (CMDL). He studied with André Charlier, Benoit Sourisse, Pierre Perchaud, Stéphane Huchard. He will obtain his National Higher Professional Musician Diploma in June 2014. Baptiste has performed on prestigious stages and festivals such as the Paris Jazz festival, Jazz à Vannes, Jazz à Viennes, Avoriaz Jazz up festival, Cassis jazz festival, Jazz à Montauban, Jazz in Marciac, the New Morning, the Sunside, the Baiser salé, the Caveau de la Huchette...

He also went to play in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark. He was able to play and share the stage with Sylvin Marc, Ronald Baker, Géraud Portal, Didier Lockwood, Marc Tomas, Noé Reinhardt, Frédéric Borey, Julien Alour, Nicolas Baudino, Pierre Cocq-Amann, Julien Petit, Jean-Yves Jung, Jean Pascal Bofo.

In June 2014, Baptiste participated in the IASJ (International Association of Schools of Jazz) in South Africa in Cape Town under the direction of Dave Liebman.

Late in 2022 Castets recorded his debut as leader "Patience." The album —who show the light in 2024 on Fresh Sound New Talent— is an inspiring set that stands the test of time. He choiced to collaborate with old fellows Frédéric Borey on saxes, trombonist Sébastien Llado, Edouard Monnin on piano and double bassist Gabriel Midon.
