One of the most elegant and versatile jazzman emerged in recent times. Domenico Sanna, pianist and composer of Gaeta. Winner of the Tuscia in Jazz Jimmy Award 2007 and 2008, in the same year he won the award dedicated to Luca Flores, and the following year he received an award from the association “Armonia Foundation of Arts.

He moved to Rome in 2004 and attended the University of Music. Record ‘One Special Night’ with saxophonist Rick Margitza, with Michel Rosciglione, Francisco Mela, Flavio Boltro, Remi Vignolo, for the label “Tuscia in Jazz” with which two years later he recorded with Dave Liebman. In 2008 he joined the group of Stefano di Battista with whom he recorded the album “Piu Sole” for Universal, with Nicky Nicolai.

He has already collaborated with musicians among the best of the New York scene such as Steve Grossman, Jeff Ballard, Joe Lovano, Larry Grenadier, Peter Bernstein, Francisco Mela, Scott Colley, Eddie Gomez, Ameen Saleem, Dana Hawkins, JD Allen, Logan Richardson, Scott Hamilton, Greg Hutchinson and again Gegè Telesforo, Flavio Boltro, Roberto Gatto, Maurizio Giammarco, Daniele Tittarelli, Giovanni Amato, Gege Munari, Antonello Salis, Max Ionata, Dario Deidda and many others.

In 2010 he recorded his first trio-winning album “Too Marvelous for Words” with Giorgio Rosciglione and Marco Valeri for Tosky Records, dedicated to the great American composers of the early 1900s and after having lived a short period in New York he recorded with a new trio with Marco Valeri on drums and Luca Fattorini on double bass, the trio’s name is “Fresh Fish”. The Fresh Fish becomes quintet in 2012 with Daniele Tittarelli and Francesco Lento and out “Performance” in February 2014 for the label “Parco della Musica” in Rome and just returned from New York where he recorded for his new project in trio with Ameen Saleem on bass and Dana Hawkins on drums; Brooklyn Beat for Jandomusic, out in October the disc is currently part of the group of Gege Telesforo with which he recorded “Nu Joy” for the Columbia–Sony Music.

In September 2024, "Music is the Answer" saw the light on Fresh Sound New Talent label, his new trio including fellow mates Ameen Saleem on bass and Greg Hutchinson on drums.
