Pianist Tony Luis and his trio has continually pleased jazz followers wherever they have appeared, and after numerous requests for recordings from Disc Jockeys as well as jazz lovers, they proceeded to record four of their more popular arrangements.
Tony Luis, born in Philadelphia in 1931, was stricken with infantile paralysis at the age of 12, and only after many months of physio therapy was he able to overcome total paralysis of the right arm. Having the use of only two fingers on his right hand, he was advised by a physician that consistant exercise would help to strengthen them. This is when he first became interested in the piano. By using a close piano style he was able to achieve a captivating sound that is both relaxing and swinging.
