Pere Soto
Born in 1958 in Badalona, Pere Soto is a jazz guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, master in new technologies applied to music, self-taught and one of the pioneers of the gypsy jazz style in Spain.
In 1982 he created the group Django's Castle, with whom he has been recording an album per year. He has performed both in Europe and America, playing with well-known jazzmen such as Dave Douglas, Dave Liebman, Ben Allison and Jeff Ballard, among others. His work has enjoyed recognition from RNE, which awarded his album Coincidències (1989) as best jazz album of the year in Catalonia, and from the Jazz South Federation (USA), which selected Metanoic (Pere Soto & Bill Gerhardt Quartet) best album of the month in 1992.
