Yorgui Loeffler
Born in Alsace, France, in 1979, Yorgui Loeffler is currently considered one of the most talented gypsy guitarists. For years, he worked very hard in a self-taught manner in order to develop and concretize his musical personality, based on the musical heritage of Django Reinhardt.
He started at the age of 14, playing rhythm guitar on his brother guitarist Gigi Loeffler group. Gigi soon left Yorgui the role of lead guitarist. His style is not only a masterful imitation of the way of playing of famous gypsy guitarists such as Tchavolo Schmitt, Biréli Lagrène or Stochelo Rosenberg, but he has been able to develop his own "tone" and phrasing. His musical technique, precise and fast, has become his own brand.
His discography includes a fine set of classic standards from the Swing Era recorded back to back along with superb violinist from Barcelona, Marta Sierra. Entitled "C Jam Blues"...
