Marta Sierra is a violinist from Barcelona, Spain, who has made a name for herself with her "Hot Club Swing Jazz sound.” As a duo, trio or quartet, she performs American Jazz standards with a continental flair, playing the music most popular in Paris and all over Europe in the 1930’s and 40’s, as well as gypsy jazz tunes and tunes from the French songbook repertoire. She can be heard regularly in Barcelona's clubs and concert halls, as well as in the fabled jazz venues of Paris: 38Riv, La Péniche Marcounet, Le Chat Noir, and the historic Le Caveau de la Huchette and La Chope des Puces.

Her first album, "Paris Connection," was released in 2022; her second album, “C-Jam Blues”, with the renowned gypsy jazz guitarist Yorgui Loeffler, in 2023. On "Paris Connection," Marta Sierra is accompanied by the French guitarist Maxime Bousquet, as well as by Swedish clarinet player Fredrik Carlquist and American bassist Stuart Grant, both based in Barcelona. This album was inspired by the personal and musical connection of the Catalan artist with the city of Paris, a city she loves dearly, and where she regularly plays her style of Hot Club Swing and Gypsy Jazz.

On the album "C Jam Blues," Marta collaborates with the famous Strasbourg Gypsy jazz guitarist Yorgui Loeffler. Accompanied on rhythm guitar by the guitarist's son, Magnio Loeffler, and by the Parisian double bass player David Gousset, both trade scorching hot licks, creating magical, musical conversations in a fantastic album of fourteen swing-style tunes. They play good old swing standards such as the well-known Ellingtonian tunes “C Jam Blues,” and “It Don't Mean A Thing,” the Morgan Lewis' “How High the Moon.” They also incorporate more modern gypsy jazz tunes from the 1950s and up to the 70s, such as the waltz “Dolores,” by Tchan Tchou Vidal, the ballad “Black Orpheus” by Luiz Bonfá, and the anonymous “Swing Gitan.” The album also features other sources of inspiration, such as the American blues violinist Claude Williams and the Danish violinist Svend Asmussen, as well as contemporary violinists such as the American Jason Annick.

Marta Sierra is inspired by the language and art of many violinists she admires, especially the greatest jazz violinist of the 20th century, Stéphane Grappelli. Grappelli, along with the fabled guitarist Django Reinhardt, who were responsible of the influential Quintette du Hot Club de France.
