Eddie Mejía
Eddie Mejía, a musician and composer who currently lives in Barcelona, began playing the guitar at the age of 11 under the influence of jazz, blues, folk and other music genres. Mejía himself mentions Pat Metheny, Ornette Coleman and Keith Jarrett as his inspirational focus.
Born and raised in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Eddie began his career with pianist Samuel Martínez Herrera. Later he moved to Barcelona to begin his higher studies at the Liceu Conservatory, where he graduated last year and was a finalist for the Extraordinary Prize for Jazz and Modern Performance. At the Conservatory he was a student of professors Bill McHenry, Jordi Bonell and Jaume Llombart, among others.
His debut album "A Moment In Transition" features an stelar sextet including Bill McHenry, Edu Cabello, Milena Casado, Masa Kamaguchi and Ramon Prats was published by Fresh Sound New Talent in March of 2023.
