Giuseppe Campisi is an acoustic and electric bass player, composer and arranger. He grew up in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Sicily, where developed his passion for music from a young age. Campisi is currently living in Barcelona.

During the course of the years he has earned a degree Magna Cum Laude in Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music as well as a master in Jazz Performance at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam; Campisi has written for and performed with a wide variety of groups, ranging from small to large ensembles, working actively both as a sideman and as a leader of his own projects.

Throughout his career he has had the chance to perform in major festivals and venues, including Umbria Jazz, Umbria Jazz Winter, London Jazz Festival, Bimhuis, Amersfoort Jazz Festival, Grachtenfestival, Teatro Colón Bogotá, Catania Jazz, Bflat, International Festival du Luth à Tétouan, Flamenco Biënnale, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Festival de Jazz de Terrassa, L’Auditori Barcelona, Festival de Jazz de Sant Andreu and Voll-Damm Festival de Jazz de Barcelona, to name a few. Among the others, Campisi has performed and recorded in Europe and in the United States with artists like George Garzone, Bob Moses, Dick Oatts, Perico Sambeat, Ben Van Gelder, Marcello Pellitteri, Andrea Motis, Jasper Blom, Michael Moore, Lluís Vidal, Danny Grisset, Benjamin Herman and Kirk Lightsey.

Besides his numerous collaborations as a sideman, he has recorded and published three albums as leader: 'A Traveler Point of View' (Alfamusic, 2019), 'Un Imprevisto È La Sola Speranza' (The Changes, 2020) and 'Like Splashing in the Ocean' (Fresh Sound new Talent, 2023).

In addition, from his deep interest for the isle of Sicily and its culture, Campisi has been working on a project named About Sicily: the first EP, 'Terra Ca Nun Senti,' was published on December 2021.

Since 2015 he has been active with Fluid Collective, a project co-led with guitar player Alessio Pignorio and alto player Daniele Germani. This ensemble has recorded two albums: 'In The Woods' (Honolulu Records, 2015), featuring tenor and soprano player George Garzone, and 'The A’dam Chapter' (Self-produced, 2020), featuring alto player Dick Oatts and singer Sanne Huijbregts.
