Originally from the small Cornish town of Bude, UK, Ronan is a London based saxophonist, composer, bandleader and sideman.

In 2010 and 2011 he was selected to take part in the National Youth Jazz Collective, and Helen Mayhew (Jazz FM) wrote in Jazzwise 'Some truly outstanding young musicians [in the National Youth Jazz Collective Summer School] including Ronan Perrett... just watch this lot take off and fly in years to come'. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2015 with a BMus(Hons) First Class in performance with second study composition.

In 2019 he toured the UK with support from Arts Council England to promote his first release with his band Twospeak. Their second album, Reflector, was launched with an online performance in February 2021 to critical acclaim- 'Exciting to listen to... Twospeak don't sound like anyone else on the vibrant British jazz scene' - Matthew Ruddick (Kind of Jazz).

In October 2021 Twospeak performed at Jazz Juniors festival in Krakow, Poland, and were awarded concerts at Ural Terra Jazz Festival in Russia and Nica Jazz Festival in Spain. They have also performed at the London Jazz Festival and Greenwich Jazz Festival. Twospeak features Ronan's saxophone and compositions, Joseph Costi (Bahla, Caravella) on keyboards, Mike De Souza (Mike De Souza Trio, Big Bad Wolf) on guitar and Ben Brown (Waaju, Jean Toussaint) on drums.

​Ronan has performed as a bandleader at the legendary Ronnie Scott's jazz club- 'He blows life and colour through the instrument'- London Jazz News. His debut trio album, Who Owns the Sky?, featuring drummer James Maddren (Seamus Blake, Jacob Collier) and bassist Ferg Ireland (Gregory Porter, Taylor Swift) is due to be released with a UK tour on the Fresh Sound New Talent label in May 2022.

As a sideman Ronan has played at the Royal Albert Hall, the London Stadium, the Jazz Cafe and the Vortex and has performed worldwide including venues in India, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Germany and France. He is a busy sideman in bands such as Join the Din, OK Aurora, Adam Teixeira's Group Field, the Alex Mendham Orchestra and many other projects.

In 2019 He was awarded the Help Musicians Transmission Fund for mentoring in composition and improvisation with renowned musicians John Hollenbeck and Chris Speed.

​As a composer Ronan wrote, arranged, orchestrated and conducted music for the film Matchbox, the escape room Secret Studios, the play Family Way and composed a piece with the Jack Petchy Foundation for children’s choir and percussion, London Town.

He holds an LRAM teaching diploma teaches saxophone, flute, clarinet and piano lessons on an individual basis, as well as leading composition workshops and youth orchestra rehearsals. He has a Graduate Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic counselling from Goldsmiths University and is currently a peripatetic music tutor for Merton Music Foundation.
