From the hot quintet he formed with his trumpeter brother Stéphane to his long-term exploration of the possible connections between jazz and post-impressionist French music with the ensemble Hymne au soleil (four Jazz Victories), including his experiences with Horace Silver and the late Yusef Lateef or his electro afro-trips with DJ Fred Galliano, the saxophonist is a tireless pioneer of the powers and possibilities of music, inhabited by an energy that recalls the great heroes of the jazz tradition.
