Tom Warburton
While living in Kansas City, Kansas, Tom started his musical studies at the age of 10 playing piano and guitar influenced by the recordings of great blues musicians like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Son House. In 1998, Tom is accepted into the prestigious Indiana University School of Music to study double bass and moves to Bloomington, Indiana.
At Indiana University, Tom studies composition and participates in weekly classical lessons with double-bass pedagogue Bruce Bransby and studies with jazz pedagogues David Baker and Pat Harbison. He participates in master classes with musicians Dave Liebman, Fred Hersch, Dave Holland, John Scofield, Christian McBride, John Abercrombie, James Moody, Kenny Garrett, Lynne Arriale, Drew Gress, Greg Osby, Chris Potter or Jamey Haddad.
