Roy Burns
Roy Burns (1935-2018), was possibly the youngest drummer ever to play with the big name bands. He worked with Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Charles Mingus and Joe Bushkin. At the peak of his career as a big band drummer, Roy decided to change his course. He began working with young drummers in high schools and colleges. Rogers' Drums and the CBS Musical Instruments Division signed him as a Staff Artist, and over the past several years in that capacity, Roy has established himself as the world’s leading percussion clinician, as well as one of the great solo artists of his day.
