Julien Bertrand
A graduate of the CNRs of Boulogne Billancourt (classical) and Chambéry (jazz), Julien Bertrand has been touring since 2000, with Miguel Fiannaca, the Big Band Turquoise, Ompa Bompa, his own group, the Julien Bertrand Quintet (winner of several local and national competitions and springboards), then from 2006 with the American pianist Joel Holmes, who met in New York, former member of the Roy Hargrove Quintet.
He signed with Fresh Sound Records for which he recorded two records "Free Revolution Zone" in 2019 (Révélation Jazz magazine, Révélation Radio Jazz UK) then "Waxmen" in 2024 with his new formation New Fly.
He also participates as a sideman in numerous projects (Earz Quintet, Vincent Périer Septet, David Bressat Quintet, MN Big Band, etc...). Playing along with such renowned names as Keith Brown, Tony Hewitt, Lolo Bellonzi, Jeff Ballard, Eric Le Lann, Sangoma Everett, Seleno...
