Rai Paz was born in Barcelona in 1988. He started playing guitar at the age of 7 and learned the first chords thanks to his parents. Later he spent ten years studing at the school Musicart Sarrià. It was thanks to Roger Mas and Alfred Artigas that he discovered the Jazz. It was at the time Rai registered at “Taller de Músics” where he studied for one year with Jordi Matas. Simultaneously he started taking private lessons with sax player Antonio Mesa, with whom he started doing his first “gigs”. The following course, Paz decided to spend one year studying with the great guitar player Jaume Llombart. At the end of this course he did the entrance tests to the “Conservatori del Liceu” studing the next 4 years with Jordi Bonell, Dani Pérez, Jon Robles, David Mengual and Horacio Fumero between others.

During these years of formation Rai Paz was also present at the “Begues Jazz Camp” seminars (2009 to 2014) having the opportunity to study with great musicians like Mark Turner, Eli Degibri, Joe Magnarelli, Bill McHenry, Charles Davis, Benet Palet, Michael Kanan, Bruce Barth, Peter Bernstein, Ben Monder, Ben Street, Doug Weiss, Putter Smith, Jorge Rossy and Jimmy Wormworth.

He had been in the front of Rai Paz and The Jazz Hooligans, recovering Sean Levitt’s music and have taken part in different projects as La Posada Jazz Collective, Maspollaz, Joana Gomila Folk Souvenir, The Swingbirds, DO New Ensemble Next Geneartion and Liceu Big Band as arranger. He has performed in jazz eventls like Festival de Jazz de Caldes-Engordany, Festival de Jazz de St. Andreu, Festival M.P.B, playing in clubs like Jamboree, Harlem, Pipa Club, Continental, Big Bang, Sala Fénix, Sa Clau and theaters like Alexandra, in Barcelona, and Mar i Terra in Palma de Mallorca. Rai Paz has shared the scenary with musicians like Antonio Mesa, Víctor Correa, Joan Mas, Toni Vaquer, Félix Rossy, Albert Cirera, Joan Vilalta, Mayte Alguacil, Marcel·lí Bayer, Celeste Alías, etc.
