Born in 1949, Argentinian double bass player Horacio Fumero, studied in Buenos Aires at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory and the Conservatoire Supérier de Musique in Geneva. In 1973 he arrived in Europe at the Montreux Jazz Festival with Gato Barbieri.

Based in Geneva in the early years he collaborated, among others, with the Lausanne String Orchestra. Since 1980 he is settled in Barcelona and the following year he became part of the Tete Montoliu Trio, with whom he worked until the death of the leader in 1997.

As a freelancer he has played with world-class musicians such as Freddie Hubbard, Johnny Griffin, Philip Catherine, Woody Shaw, Bobby Hutcherson or Danilo Perez, among many others.

Developer of the best jazz at home and in other regions, as a soloist he has performed with various orchestras such as the Orquestra de Cambra del Teatre Lliure in Barcelona, ​​the Granada Symphony, the National of Spain and the OBC, among others.

He has also cultivated the flamenco genre with Chano Domínguez, Martirio, Chicuelo and Ginesa Ortega. He was awarded the Best Spanish Song Album at the 2010 Music Awards with 'Coblas del querer,' along with Miguel Poveda.

He has won other awards such as the newspaper El Mundo, La Bilbaína, MiraJazz, Enderrock, AMJM, Jazzterrasman Award 2013 of the Terrassa Jazz Festival, and won a Grammy nomination with Adrián Iaies.
