This Barcelona-born pianist started his musical studies first in Barcelona and then at New York's New School in 1989, where he studied with Fred Hersch, Kenny Barron and Barry Harris. Since then he has gone on to carve himself a career based on many live performances in Spain and around the world, including jazz festivals, award ceremonies and solo shows.

He has played with a host of big name jazz players, including Jesse Davis, Marc Johnson, Guy Lafitte, Harold Land, Ed Thigpen, Oliver Jackson, Ralph Moore, Roy Hargrove, Art Farmer, Chano Domínguez, Deborah Davis, Kenny Wheeler and Peter King, to name but a few.

His recording career is no less impressive, with twenty-one appearances as a sideman and four albums as leader, of which two are live sets; one is with his trio and the other as a duo. He has recorded with renowned players as Perico Sambeat, Bob Sands, and Jose Luis Gámez on Fresh Sound New Talent. His recording, Esmuc Blues shows off his virtuosity as a live performer as well as his intricate and talented song writing.

Among his projects are a trio with bass player Chris Higgins (Oregon, USA) and drummer Jorge Rossy (Barcelona, Spain) and duos with Tete Montoliu's former bassist, Horacio Fumero, and pianist Marco Mezquida.
