After spending several years in New York recording and touring with a wide variety of artists such as John Scofield, Vernon Reid of Living Color and Wax Poetic featuring Norah Jones, innovative musician and song writer Marlon Browden has formed his new band Cherry.

With influences from hip hop, jazz, and soul the sound of Cherry is minimal yet full, mixing dirt beats with rock guitar, organ, samples and wurlitzer. A seamless flow from simple grooves and melodies into deep group interaction gives this entrancing group an unassuming freshness. The Cherry debut album will be released in the late fall and features hot new artists Marla Turner (Wax Poetic) and Jaques Schwarz-Bart (Brother Jaques Project/ D'Angelo).
