Phil Grenadier
Trumpeter Phil Grenadier comes from a musical family. Born in San Francisco, Phil grew up playing music with brothers Larry (bass) and Steve (guitar). Turning professional at sixteen, Phil played in big bands, jazz groups, and show bands backing up the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, and Tony Bennett.In 1988 Phil moved to New York City to gain more experience and opportunity. This led to recordings with Bob Belden and Owen Howard and gigs with various musicians including Kenny Barron, Chris Potter and Ritchie Beirach, among many others.From 1995 to the present, Phil has been working in the Boston area. Recently, he has recorded with Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, and Bob Nieske 3 with the Lydian String Quartet.
